The Arc of Lucas County was born 57 years ago from a grassroots movement of concerned families working diligently to create services for children and adults who were being denied educational opportunities, work programs and day care.
Founded in 1954, The Arc of Lucas County was comprised of a small group of vigilant and passionate parents who would be the catalyst for changing the public perception of children with disabilities. For the past fifty-seven years, The Arc has continued to evolve and grow along with the changing needs and issues faced by people with disabilities and their families.
